The objective of BUAT is to apply all conventions and agreements concluded :

  • with foreign countries adhering to the international insurance card system known as the "Green Card system".
  • with the Arab countries signatory of the Tunis convention of 04/26/1975 relating to the inter-Arab insurance card known as the "Orange Card system".

In this context, the Bureau is responsible to :

  • Facilitate to the motorists insured by insurance companies’ members of the Bureau, to enter into foreign countries or Arab countries through issuing to those companies of international insurance cards,
  • Settle the accidents caused on the Tunisian territory by motorists carrying an insurance cards issued by foreign or Arab insurance companies.
  • Guarantee the settlement of claims caused abroad by motorists insured with an international insurance card issued by insurance companies members of the Bureau.
